The fun begins with opening night in late September. “The Boogeyman loves to play for keeps” at Heart Stopper Fright. It has 13 acres of terror and an Army of Darkness. There are 3 haunts available separately or as a combo package. Parking is free and it runs from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The haunts are Woods of Deception, Woods Maze, and House of No Mercy. The combo ticket is $25 with online coupon or $30 at the gate. Open every Friday and Saturday night plus additional dates the week before Halloween.
6th Street Massacre - Amarillo, TX
A special 3D haunted house the 6th Street Massacre supplies 3D glasses. Tickets are $25. Haunt is open 7 pm to midnight. This attraction is open every Friday and Saturday night beginning in late September. A very popular and busy attraction.
Amarillo Scaregrounds - Amarillo, TX
The fright begins in late September. Haunt doors open at 7 pm. The Pepsi Pass Combo ticket is $35 to enter Terror, Insanitarium, The Basement, Blackout, and Zombie Apocalypse. You can purchase individual tickets to these attractions for $15, $15, $20, $5, and $5 respectively. Open every Friday and Saturday nights in October plus Halloween. Circus of the Dead - Odessa, TX
This is a 2 haunt 8000 square foot haunted warehouse attraction put on by BloodyBill. Doors open from 7 pm until 10 pm. Featured are Def Con 1 Haunted Warehouse and Curse of the Dead. Def Con features zombies from beyond the grave. The curse is a murder maze. Open Friday and Saturday nights beginning around the middle of October. Check Facebook for details.
Creekside Manor - Midlothian, TX
Creekside Manor is open this Halloween season. It opens the last weekend in September and runs every Friday and Saturday in October. Tickets are available. Surrounded by haunted woods and sinister waters, Creekside Manor watches for new guests. Will you dare walk through its gates, pass its cemetary and enter its narrow, winding halls? Creepy Hollow - Rosharon, TX
Haunted house for Halloween opens in early October and runs every Friday and Saturday nights. Their indoor attractions will be closed for 2020, and their outdoor attractions will be available for a reduced ticket price. Check out the Dark Woods, Bus Adventure Expansion, Amazing Freakshow, Outdoor Voodoo Lounge, World of Oddities, plus food trucks, photo ops, and more. They will have a virtual Q line system and 12 sanitation stations around the park. For the first time in 10 years, actors will not be allowed to touch anyone. Note they run their escape rooms and Zombie horde year round. Their attractions at Pitch Black, Dark Woods, and 288 Scare Factory.
Cutting Edge Haunted House - Fort Worth, TX
This amazing attraction opens in late September. Guinness marked Cutting Edge Haunted House as the “World’s Largest Walk Through Haunted House”. The dark attraction is filled with terrifying live characters, amazing special effects, and incredible monsters. Tickets are available online and in person. How long does it take to go through Cutting Edge? The answer is how fast can you run. Actually it takes about 55 minutes to go through this haunt. Regular hours the doors open at 7 pm or 8 pm and runs until 10 pm or midnight. Check their schedule for details. Dan’s Haunted House - Lake Dallas, TX
Sorry folks but appears this Japanese styled haunt is moving and rebuilding and will not open this Halloween season. Check back later for details. Dan’s Haunted House presents Twisted Fate: The Death of Unkle Kreep. Japanese Demons of Dan’s Haunted House have taken over the Haunted house industry by storm.
Dark Hour Haunted House - Plano, TX
Their 2020 Halloween event has been postponed, but they will have a few unique ways to experience Dark Hour this Halloween season. Dark Hour is a Plano, Texas haunted attraction open all year but especially during the Halloween season. They feature unique animatronics and sets design to bring the fear out in you. They produce a new monthly theatrical experience to bring you back again and again. Located just off Hwy 75 and the President George Bush turnpike in Plano.
DEF CON 1 - Odessa, TX
Def Con 1 Haunted Warehouse is part of the BloodyBill group which also features Circus of the Dead all for just $10. Open on the last three Friday and Saturday night weekends in October plus Halloween night. Beginning with the conception of Def Con 1 and later Circus of the Dead. Two state of the art haunted attractions housed under a single 8,000 square foot complex buried deep in the heart of West Texas. Behind its thick doors lurk the nightmarish visions of Bloody Bill and his dominion of skilled artisans, who specialize in creating a horror filled experience for those brave few that enter.
Doc Wilkes House of Horrors - Longview, TX
Doc Wilkes is open every Friday and Saturday nights in October. Tickets are available online and in person. Legend has it that Wilkes opened his own personal practice hospital there “Doc Wilkes”, and it is only seen by the people HE wants it to be seen by, “the victims.” Over the years Wilkes used his “white noise” theory to perform hundreds of operations and radical experiments on victims in the abandoned building, and it is said that he buried the bodies in the center graveyard, and the victims walk the halls of the building still trying to find their way out. Who will be Doc’s next victim? He’s always looking for fresh meat. There really is a Doc Wilkes who is a famous magician and fast gun artist. He performed quick draw tricks at Six Flags for years. He started a haunted house some 30 years ago and moved to Longview and open Doc Wilkes 17 years ago.
Dungeon of Doom - Kemah, TX
Dungeon of Doom is located at Kemah Boardwalk. It opens in late September. It then runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights in October. Tickets are $15 but they do have discounts and student pricing available. Also they have a combo pass with the Boardwalk for all day rides.
Fearshire Farms - Angleton, TX
Sorry folks it appears that Fearshire Farms did not open last year and they have not updated their 2020 plans. The three attractions plus the courtyard are open 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm every Friday and Saturday night plus Sunday just before and Halloween. They also have a free courtyard that has a campfire pit for marshmallows, a pumpkin display, a shooting gallery, Bucking Bull, maze, food and drinks. They have three levels of scary entertainment. Tickets to the haunts are: Fearsons Farm House, Dead End Corn Maze, and Honkey’s Fun House which are individually priced. Everyone rides the Haunted Hayride. The Fear Pass Combo ticket (all three) includes the courtyard entertainment. Also a low priced Grounds admission for those who just want to join in the courtyard fun.
Fright Night Haunted House - Corpus Christi, TX
Note given the current virus situation this popular haunt for the last 22 years may not open this year. Please check their Facebook page for updated information. All new Fright opens in October. Open every Friday and Saturday night in October plus dates near Halloween. This is one of the most popular haunts in Texas. Fright night has over 27000 Facebook likes.
Graystone Haunted Manor - Longview, TX
Graystone is open every Friday and Saturday nights beginning in late September and running through October. It is also open Halloween night and two Sunday nights. Tickets are $25. Come visit Graystone Haunted Manor, if you dare, and experience the Manor where the family lived and died. Or did they? Walk thru Oak Raven Cemetery where the departed never sleep. Take a trip through time and visit the very places where the doctor once stood. See the pyramids and riches of Egypt. Be a witness at the Salem Witch Trials. Sit in the electric chair at Alcatraz, take a walk through the Bayous of Louisiana then run through the streets of England where Jack the Ripper once prowled. They also have food at their Boneyard Bistro, an outdoor movie theater, gift shop, museum and fortune tellers.
Hangman’s House of Horrors - Fort Worth, TX
Their opening in late September marks the opening of their 32nd season. Back again in Fort Worth with lots of new horrors. This is described as “The Best Place to get Spooked”. There are 3 haunts at Hangman’s House of Horrors. A full evening of entertainment with live bands, karaoke, festival game activities, food trucks, and free parking. The haunts are Hangman’s which takes about 30 minutes to go through. Then 3D Wonderland takes you through a look at Alice through the rabbit hole. Finally Outbreak is infested by what else but Zombies. Notes specials are available online including season passes, coupons, group discounts, two for one tickets, and more. Check their online website for details. The story is back in 1882 a lynch mob ended the terror of Hezekiah Jones. Doors are open 7:30 pm and close at midnight most nights. Hatch and Kraven’s Slaughterhouse - Sherman, TX
Hatch and Kraven’s is open every Friday and Saturday nights beginning in late September through early November. Also open throughout October on the last three Thursday and Sunday nights. Come one come all to Hatch and Kravens slaughterhouse! Where we dont just make your skin crawl, we make it crawl right off its bones!
Haunted Landmark - Greenville, TX
Season begins in early October for this charity haunt put on by the Rotary Club. Open every Friday and Saturday night plus Halloween in October. Tickets are $13. Expect lots of goonies and ghouls at this place. This is their 9th year.
Haunted Mayfield Manor - Galveston, TX
Mayfield Manor is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights starting in late September. Tickets are $10. October – Call 409-762-6677 for schedule or check their web page. There are 12 rooms of fright at Mayfield Manor. This haunt is also open on weekends each month throughout the year.
Haunted Trails - Houston, TX
The season begins in late September. The Haunted Trails is very scary. A General admission ticket for $25 gets you into both Haunted Trails and Psycho Hollow. Open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night in October. Check web page for added schedule dates in October. Two attractions at one location. Enjoy clowns, freaks, and a thrilling outdoor walk.
Haunting on the Blue Ghost - Corpus Christi, TX
The USS Lexington is the home for Haunting on the Blue Ghost. It features 2 floors and 85 room of terror. Tickets are $20. They are open the last three Friday and Saturday night weekends in October plus Halloween. The USS Lexington has tours all year round.
House of Torment - Austin, TX
Now with more than 12 years of haunting the House of Torment has 3 haunted attractions for the price of one. It has long been recognized as one of America’s top haunted attractions. Featured haunted houses include Dawn of Evil, The Frenzy, and Graveside Manor. Most Friday and Saturday nights have music, DJ, live radio broadcast, and undead dancers. House of Torment is open more than 30 dates during September, October, and November. Call (512) 407 9449 for details. Generally it is open every night from late September. Houston Scream Fest - Houston, TX
Tickets available for Screamfest including admission to Castle of Doom and The Sanitarium. It opens around early October. Doors open at 8 pm and closes at either 10:30 pm or midnight. Expect big crowds and lots of fun at this place. However, parts of Houston Screamfest featuring the haunt Texas Chainsaw Maze are free including movies and live bands nightly. Adult beverages served at the bar. You get the haunted house, maze, and suspension show included for free. What a deal! Ten attractions including three new Zombie Paintball shoots all for one low price. Spend the evening at this fun entertainment facility. Open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night in October.
Houston Terrordome - Channelview, TX
If you weren’t scared at other places try Terror Dome. Open starting in late September with every Friday and Saturday nights in October plus some Sunday and Thursday dates. See their posted Schedule on their website as some nights they open at 7 pm and close at midnight. They have many discount ticket nights. Also some nights include a live DJ and Zombie Dancers. The place is fully air conditioned (to keep the dead bodies cool).

J&F House of Terror - Garland, TX
Attraction opens in early October. Back for a 3rd year in Garland, Texas. It runs Friday and Saturday nights in October plus most Thursday and Sunday nights. Also open most night during Halloween week through early November. All new and extremely scary attractions every year. Check their ticket schedule for your exact date and time.
Junk Yard Haunted House - Dallas, TX
The last two weekends in October. Junk Yard Haunted House is a Dallas haunted attraction. It is situated on a real junkyard. Horrific details and unbelievable scares – previous owner Damian Langford made his millions at his junkyards by stealing from trash haulers and recyclers in the Oak Cliff area. Karma caught up to Damian Langford – he was later discovered hanging from his Achilles tendon on his own tree on the property. He now haunts the junk yard and terrifies all who dare enter.
Moxley Manor - Bedford, TX
Both attractions open for the season in late September. Expect strange creatures, blood, and zombies at Moxley Manor Haunted House. A story of infidelity, jealously, debt, and murder at a local family home. The second attraction is Big Top Terror. Sounds like scary circus clowns. Moxley Manor is open Christmas, Friday’s the 13th, Valentines Day, and of course many dates before Halloween. Open every Friday and Saturday nights starting late September plus some Sunday and Thursday nights in October. Doors open at 8 pm in September and 7:30 pm in October. If you want wear your costume however no face masks. Attraction closes on Friday and Saturday in October at midnight. Open until 10 pm on other dates. This is an indoor haunt open rain or shine. Tickets are $25.
Nightmare on 19th Street - Lubbock, TX
This Nightmare screampark opens in late September. There are 4 attractions at Nightmare on 19th Street. Doors open at 7:30 pm in October. Tickets are $20 on Thursday and Sundays. Tickets are $25 on Fridays and Saturdays. Open every Friday, Saturday plus most Sundays and some Thursdays in October. The haunted attractions are Blood Moon Manor, The Wastelands, Clowntown 3D, and Dead Doll Island.
Nightmare on Main Street - Vernon, TX
Open every Friday and Saturday night beginning in late September. Combo tickets are available online and in person. Nightmare on Main Street & Dark Water Asylum’s Haunted Houses are located in Vernon TX. Both are an experience that will arouse feelings of intense fear, horror and distress. You will enter our 5000 sq ft historic building roaming through 32 rooms that could only exist in your darkest dreams not knowing when you will wake up from this nightmare or if it’s real. Remember, seeing is believing, but not everything you see here is believable. We promise to make the hair stand up on your neck, and run off screaming.
Phobia Haunted Houses - Houston, TX
Opening night is September 26th, 2020. All new! Houston’s biggest haunted house attraction. Phobia features 8 haunted attractions all at one location. There are separate lines and separate ticket prices. You should allow 10- 15 minutes to complete each haunt. Tickets are $15 per haunt or combo packages at $25-30. Expect to find psycho clowns, robots, staggering zombies, eerie woods, and screaming chainsaws. Purgatory Scream Park - Kingwood, TX
The former Kingswood Asylum returns again as Purgatory Scream Park. Bigger and better so check their Facebook and web pages for more details closer to October.
RedRum Haunt - Richmond, TX
RedRum has three new haunted attractions for one low price. Tickets are available for the combo haunt entry. The themes change each year for all new shows. It beginning at 7:00 pm nightly. Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights in October plus added nights near Halloween. Opening night is in late September.
Reindeer Manor Halloween Park - Red Oak, TX
The fun begins in late September. There are three haunts named 13th Street Morgue, Dungeon of Doom, and Reindeer Manor. Find this haunt at Reindeer Manor Abusement Park. Tickets are $15 each or $25 for two shows, or a $35 combo price for all three. In October the attractions open at 7 pm on Saturdays and at 8 pm on Fridays. They are open Friday and Saturday nights. Most nights they close at 12:30 am. The Morgue dates back to 1915 and has been the location of many paranormal investigations. It is the 2nd most real haunted house in Texas. The Dungeon of Doom is located in an old saloon haunted by 4 entities. Attraction has been recognized nationally for fantastic entertainment.
Ripley’s Haunted Adventure - San Antonio, TX
Ripley’s is open every day all year. This is one of their premier attractions. Ticket to the haunted house are just $21.99. Get your tickets for opening night in late September. Scare hosts Last Laugh this year as a charity haunt that supports many community good causes. It features three attractions including Fairy Tale Nightmares, Murder at Ghost Town, and The Boneyard. Fairy Tale takes about 45 minutes to complete. From a Zombie wasteland to a carnival of lost souls you will find great entertainment at Scare for a Cure. Open Friday and Saturday nights in October plus added nights.
Scream Hollow Wicked Halloween Park - Smithville, TX
A cold, seeping dread creeps among the moonlit pines of the Texas night…there is something evil in these woods, something ominous. Is it the ghosts of the orphans desecrated in 1842 by Saint Adella? Screams - Waxahachie, TX
Sorry folks but given the current virus Screams will not open in 2020. There are 5 major attractions at Screams Halloween Theme Park. Tickets are $32. Activities include the haunts plus games, actors, rides, karaoke, food and drink. The haunts are Castle of Darkness, 3D Pirates of Peril Point, Ghoul’s Graveyard, Unkel Koy’s Klown Maze, and Hotel of Horror. Screams opens 7:30 pm every Friday and Saturday in October. This park is open until 1:30 am on Friday and Saturday.
ScreamWorld - Houston, TX
The season begins in late September. ScreamWorld has been around for over 30 years. It takes about one hour to go through all five house attractions. Tickets online are less. Regular priced tickets are $29-34 but there are lots of discount nights available. Doors open at 8 pm and close at midnight on Friday and Saturday. Haunt closes at 10:00 pm other nights. The haunts are Skull Cave featuring animatronics, VooDoo Swamp, and Psycho Farm House. Jakes’s Slaughterhouse is a grim old style meat processing plant complete with slaughtered beef. Edge of Darkness features a morgue, hospital, and death row. Maze of Maniacs has meandering corridors, strobe lights, and ghouls. Finally Zombie Graveyard is an outdoor attraction with undead creatures. This place has received numerous awards for creativity and terror. Expect to be entertained. Open Friday and Saturday nights in September and October starting September. Also open Sunday and Thursday nights in October plus the weekdays before Halloween. Screamworld has over 44000 Facebook likes.
Tayman Graveyard - Midlothian, TX
It is open 7:30 pm until 12 pm most nights. Open every Friday and Saturday night starting in late September plus a few added Sundays in October. Attraction features a maze, 3D clown experience, a walk through Gravedigger’s Hollow, and the flagship attraction Funeral Home.
Terror Trail Haunted House - Canutillo, TX
The season begins in late September. This haunt features 2 acres of haunted trails and a 19 room haunted house. There are two attractions. Haunted Trail Haunted House has a ticket price It seems zombies have taken over the sanitarium. Facility is open from 7:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays nights.
Terror Trails and House of Terror - Yantis, TX
Open on Friday and Saturday nights beginning in early October. It has two attractions at this location. It has become a family tradition for many after 20 plus years of fun for the community. A combo ticket into both location s is just $19.
Texas Scaregrounds Haunted House - Mineral Wells, TX
Texas Scaregrounds has announced they are again back in Texas. They have taken over an all new location. It is at the Fort Wolters Base location in Mineral Wells, TX Check their Facebook page for details. They run special events all year with ghost hunting and paranormal investigations at this scary location.
The 13th Floor Haunted House - San Antonio, TX
Two haunted houses at one location and for one low price. The 13th Floor says they are the longest and largest haunted attraction in San Antonio. Warning the event may be too intense. Ever wonder why the 13th floor is missing in so many buildings. The two haunts are Clown and Weeping Woman. Doors open at 7 pm. Attraction is open Friday and Saturday from the middle of September. They are open most Wednesday through Sunday nights in October. Check their web page for dates. This is a Funtober Favorite 100 and a top 100 most popular haunted attraction in the country. This attraction is very popular with over 106000 Facebook likes.
Thrillvania Haunted House Park - Terrell, TX
The park opens in early October. Thrillvania Thrill Park is 4 amazing haunt attractions. Thrillvania is open rain or shine. Doors open at 8 pm. The five haunts are “The World Famous Verdun Manor” about a psychopathic werewolf. “Cassandra’s Labyrinth of Terror” deals with clown horror. “Sam Hain’s Trail of Torment” has lots of psychic madness. Finally the Thorn Hall is a chilling experience of sensory overload. Open Friday and Saturday nights in October plus Halloween. Tickets are $29.99.
Van Buren Frightmare and Mayhen - Amarillo, TX
The season begins in early October. The Clown gang battles Zombies at this haunted attraction. It is open Friday and Saturday nights in October plus Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday during Halloween week. It is open 7:30 pm to midnight most nights. What is going on at the old downtown YMCA building? Is there really a battle at the newly discovered underground lair? Stop by and find out for yourself.
