Apex Orchards - Shelburne Falls, MA
Take a tractor-drawn trailer ride through the fields and pick your own apples (8 varieties throughout the season), peaches and pumpkins beginning in August. Their farm store, open seasonally from August-December, offers locally made goods and pre-picked fruits, and offers amazing views that stretch as far as New Hampshire and Vermont. This seven generation family owned farm has been a part of Shelburne since 1834, when Revolutionary War vet Abner Peck Sr bought the land, which served the family in various capacities until the dairy cows were sold off and the orchards planted in the 1940s. It is located about 45 miles north of Springfield.
Austin Brothers Valley Farm - Belchertown, MA
Corn maze opens in late September. Pick your own pumpkins with hayrides and a corn maze in the fall. About the farm: The 130 acre farm was founded more than 130 years ago. Operated by fourth and fifth generation farmers, it was a dairy farm until 2006. They are now raising beef and pork instead. Fletcher Family Farm - Southampton, MA
The last remaining dairy farm in Southampton also has pick your own pumpkins on their 100 acre farm. It is run by Bob and Cheryl Fletcher. The address is 22 Gunn Road, Southampton, Massachusetts 01073. It is about 17 miles north of Springfield.
Lakeview Orchard - Lanesborough, MA
The orchard features pick you own pumpkins and apples. They have a farm stand, bakery, and cider mill. Apple picking starts in August and runs into October along with pumpkins. Their address is 94 Old Cheshire Road, Lanesborough, MA 01237. It is about 60 miles northwest of Springfield.
