Holiday World & Splashin Safari Located in Santa Claus – Indiana
The small town of Santa Claus is a tourist dream on the Indiana side of the Kentucky border between Louisville and Evansville. The town is called America’s Christmas Hometown. They are less than 3 hours from St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Nashville. Besides the wonderful amusement park Holiday World, the town features a Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort, Santa’s Cottages, a Santa Claus Museum, a candy castle, a Christmas Store, and a national park. The area, Spencer County, was the boyhood home of Abraham Lincoln.
What To Do At Holiday World
It started out as Santa Claus Land more than 65 year ago. However the theme park is the big draw based on rides, shows, roller coasters and wonderful Halloween and Christmas events. Holiday World has been termed the cleanest amusement park in the country. They feature Voyager for what many consider to be the best wooden roller coaster in the country. Also they include a water park with two of the longest water coaster rides in the world. They have lots to do here for adults but don’t be confused. They have over 50 rides and shows with something for the whole family. Holiday World knows how to entertain with eight great stage shows. The shows are named Holidog & Friends, Dive, Real Country, 80’s Rewind, Epic Praise, Legacy, and Wild & Wacky Magic.
What’s So Special About Holiday World
The family run park knows how to take care of visitors. Save money and buy your tickets online. Adult tickets are $39.95, Seniors and Guests under 54 inches are $34.95. Children under age 2 are free. So the prices are good but not spectacular until you see the fun.

Free Soft Drinks
As you can see they don’t squeeze you for the last dime. Who ever heard of free sunscreen and soft drinks for guests at an amusement park? Apparently Holiday World knows how to keep visitors coming back. They also have lots of food available in the park. (Sorry, you do have to pay for the food.) On site restaurants include Kringle Kafe, Wildebeestro, Plymouth Rock Café, The Alamo, Barbecue USA, and a dozen fast food, burger, pizza, hot dog, ice cream and treat type places.

Did I mention they open the park at 11AM on Saturday and Sunday from September 20 – October 26, 2014 for their Happy Halloween Weekends theme. Holiday World is decorated for Halloween and includes two amazing corn mazes, hayrides, a 3D Theater presentation, Halloween candy, pumpkins, a Mummy’s Treasure Maze, and stage shows including Graveyard Smash. During Saturday and Sunday afternoons they feature a costume dance party hosted by Kitty Claws. On Saturday nights they close at 8 pm with a Halloween themed laser light show. Since they are open Saturday’s past sundown, they also feature coaster rides in the dark. Halloween ticket prices online (in advance) are $24.95.
