Vintage Halloween, Air Races, and Fall Festivals

Did you know there are collectible Halloween items?  Maybe you should visit a real Halloween museum?  A little more thrilling might be the two Red Bull air races as the prop planes race by you at eye level at speeds topping 200 mph.  The stands will be filled with more than 80,000 spectators.  Looking for something a little more festive then we have some wonderful fall festivals to talk about.  Thanks for visiting our Countdown to Halloween.

Red Bull Air Races 
Ever been to an air race?  Speaking of thrills and excitement these planes are traveling 25 feet off the ground at speed well over 200 mph.  These air race events are sponsored by Red Bull.  Check out this air race video for some fun.

The world championship consists of 7 air races run around the world.  This fall there are two races in the United States.  One at the Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas-Fort Worth and the other at the Las Vegas Speedway.  The Dallas event happens on September 6-7, 2014.  The Las Vegas event occurs on October 11-12, 2014.  Both events have 12 pilots scheduled to be put through a series of races with twist and turn pylons to determine the event champion.

Fest 13 Music Festival
Gainesville, Florida is the place and punk rock music is the happening event between October 31 through November 2nd, 2014.  Now in its 13th year, Fest 13 brings around sixty popular bands to the area.  The headline band is the Descendents.  Also see the Menzingers, The Hotelier, and Into It Over It plus many more featured entertainment.  Find our link to Florida festivals here.

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Presented by Chase
This annual event is hosted by Walt Disney World and takes place in the World Showcase at Epcot between September 19th and November 10th, 2014.  Find cuisines from renowned chefs from around the world.  Nightly Eat to the Beats concerts take place with a variety of rock, soul, jazz, and classic at the America Gardens Theater.  Find our link to wine festivals here.

Salinas Valley Wine and Food Festival
What could be better than wine and food in California?  Salinas ranks as one of the top 50 places to live in the country.  This is their 4th annual festival.  The date is October 11th, 2014 so set your calendar.  We have a link to this festival on our California festivals page.

Chipotle Cultivate Festival – San Francisco, Minneapolis, and Dallas
The restaurant chain Chipotle once again brings great food and music together in festivals around the country.  Already announced this summer are events in San Francisco and Minneapolis.  The Dallas event comes in prime time Funtober season on October 18, 2014.  See the Chipotle Cultivate Festival facebook page for more information on all the festivals.

Plan a Visit to a Real Halloween Museum
Give the Halloween Queen a call to make an appointment to see the Castle Halloween Museum located in Benwood, West Virginia.  Chris Russell and Pamela Apkarian-Russell operate a Halloween museum filled with over 35,000 seasonal holiday displays, vintage Jack O lanterns, toys, candy containers, books, and decorations.  They specialize in historical to hysterical vintage and contemporary items.  Nothing scary or gory is on display.  Pamela is a known author about vintage Halloween collectibles.
