This is Oregon’s Little Switzerland and their annual Bavarian type festival featuring polka music, fold dancing, alphorn blowing, yodeling and much more. A bit like a traditional Oktoberfest, but embracing the craft beer made in Eastern Oregon, using those made in the Swiss, German, Czech, or Austrian style. The only Swiss-Bavarian festival in the western US, Alpenfest salutes all the nations and principalities that stretch through the Alps. Since 1978.

This unique philanthropic event raises funds for the Parkinson’s Center of Oregon. For weeks before the event, local bovine artists are hard at working licking their salt into shape, and at the event it will be judged and put up for auction!
