2024 Festivals
Duke’s OceanFest - Honolulu, HI - Aug 17 to Aug 25, 2024
Duke’s OceanFest features a variety of ocean sports close to Duke Kahanamoku’s heart, including Longboard Surfing, Paddleboard Racing, Swimming, Tandem Surfing, Surf Polo, Beach Volleyball, and Stand-Up Paddling. The annual festival, held on the shores of Waikiki in August, celebrates Duke Kahanamoku’s life, his athletic contributions and his spirit that continues to live on.
Okinawan Festival - Honolulu, HI - Aug 31 to Sep 1, 2024
The largest ethnic festival in Hawaii. Annual event always on Labor Day weekend, now at the Hawaii Convention Center
Waikiki Ho’olaule’a - Honolulu, HI - Sep 21, 2024
KalÄkaua Avenue will be transformed with booths showcasing Hawai‘ian cuisine, crafts, and culture stretching as far as the eye can see. Taste the best of local flavors from around the island in one place, and peruse artisan-made crafts. Four stages with incredible entertainment will rock the evening featuring top local artists, award-winning hÄlau hula, and more.
Kaua’i Mokihana Festival - Waimea, HI - Sep 22 to Sep 28, 2024
A week-long celebration of Hawaiian culture. A variety of events are planned including music and hula competitions. The festival started in 1984 as the Kaua’i Composers Contest and Concert, put on by the musical group Malie with a grant from thhe Hasegawa Komuten Relations Board, and has grown into a week-long festival that aims to educate, promote, preserve, and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture for all people.

Floral Parade - Honolulu, HI - Sep 28, 2024
Kalakaua Avenue comes alive with a colorful procession of female and male pau horseback riders, floats covered with Hawaiian flowers, Hawaiian music, hula halau and local marching bands. Route goes from Ala Moana Park through Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park.
Hawaii International Film Festival - Honolulu, HI - Oct 2 to Oct 13, 2024
A two week film festival started in 1981. It is dedicated to the advancement of understanding and cultural exchange among the peoples of Asia, the Pacific and North America through the medium of film.

Annual event with Miss Kona Coffee Scholarship Pageant, driving tours, parade, art show, coffee recipe contest, quilt show and more celebrating Kona coffee and the culture of Hawaii.

Maui Ukulele Festival - Kahului, HI - Oct 7 to Oct 8, 2023
Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of ukelele music, plus door prizes, local arts & crafts, island foods and more, with free admission! The fall version of the popular summer Waikiki festival is held at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Matsuri Kauai - Lihue, HI - Oct 10 to Oct 11, 2020
Canceled for 2022, look for their return in 2022. Normally: The festival will showcase different groups of Japanese talents and Japanese culture on Kauai. Taiko performances and classical Japanese dances will also be featured. Usually a featured performance from Japan is presented at this event along with some hands on activities (i.e. oshibana, origami, oshie), crafts, kimono dressing, tea ceremony, shodo, bonsai, ikebana, etc. The event will be held at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall, Lihue. The event is free and open to the public.
