Clyde Watermelon Festival - Clyde, KS - Aug 29 to Sep 2, 2024
The Clyde Watermelon Festival started over 100 years ago when watermelons were a choice crop on sandy, river bottom land – and now it is celebrated each year on Labor Day Weekend with festival parade, BBQs, demolition derby, dances, contests, games and more!

Dancefestopia - La Cygne, KS - Sep 2 to Sep 8, 2024

Greeley Smokeoff - Greeley, KS - Sep 6 to Sep 7, 2024
Over $3000 in prizes for this BBQ contest. There’s also live music, slow pitch softball and food tasting with donations to benefit local charities.

Spinach Festival - Lenexa, KS - Sep 7, 2024
Celebrate at the Spinach Capital of the World (declared in the 1930s) with thousands of others. The World’s Largest Spinach Salad, spinach recipe contest, cooking demonstrations and kids’ activities. Walnut Valley Festival - Winfield, KS - Sep 18 to Sep 22, 2024
A music festival with bluegrass and other forms of acoustic music, with 4 stages. Attendance is approximately 15,000 annually. Held on the third weekend in September at the Cowley County Fairgrounds. Since 1972.

Annual event with parade, arts & crafts, beer garden, food, live music and more. Since 1954.

Atchison Oktoberfest - Atchison, KS - Sep 28, 2024
The annual festival is sponsored by Atchison’s Junior Guild with over 100 booths of handmade arts & crafts. Aroma of German food from the United Methodist Church booth filling the fall air, plus other food booths. Volunteer musicians and other entertainers will perform throughout the day.

Louisburg Ciderfest - Louisburg, KS - Sep 28 to Oct 6, 2024
Louisburg Cider Mill has good old fashioned apple cider fun for two weekends every autumn. It is always held on the last weekend in September and the first weekend in October. There is no admission or parking fees to attend Ciderfest. Activities begin with the pancake breakfast and continue with pony rides, inflatable slide, cider and donut-making and craft booths until 6 pm. You can also take part in all their normal fall activities, like their 10 acre corn maze and their PYO pumpkin patch (admission fee may apply).

Fall Fest - Concordia, KS - Sep 28, 2024
Friday kicks things off with a corn hole tournament and Open Mic at Broadway Plaza. The bulk of the fun can be had Saturday, with activities for the whole family such as games, a kids corner with inflatables, 5k race, train rides, parade, live entertainment, food and craft vendors, and more.

St John’s Oktoberfest - Lawrence, KS - Sep 28, 2024
Live German band as well as kids games. 26 kegs of beer from 4 different Paulaner beers, and Angry Orchard Crisp Hard Cider. Looks like beer starts at 3 PM and food starts at 4 PM. Since 1997.

Fort Hays State University Homecoming/Oktoberfest - Hays, KS - Sep 30 to Oct 5, 2024
The annual Hays Oktoberfest from the Volga German Society. It will have german food, keg tapping and family friendly component. Held on Fort Hays State University Homecoming weekend. Oktoberfest is on Friday with the heritage celebration continuing on Saturday and Sunday (based on past history). Honor our Heritage events take place in a Beer Free Zone.

Bethel College Fall Festival - North Newton, KS - Oct 3 to Oct 6, 2024
Each year, Bethel College Fall Festival weekend begins with Taste of Newton downtown on Thursday evening, continues with special events at the college on Friday, peaks with the Fall Festival fair and many activities across campus on Saturday, and ends with worship and the final performance of the Fall Fest stage production on Sunday.

Enjoy a variety of awesome events including sidewalk chalk drawing, ice cream social, chili feed and more, children’s entertainment, carnival, contests, arts & crafts, parade, food vendors and more! Wristbands (available starting in August) are necessary for some activities.

Rod Run - Hutchinson, KS - Oct 4 to Oct 5, 2024
A classic car show with main street cruise. Hot rods, antique cars, motorcycles and more. You can also enjoy Octoberfest BBQ and craft beer festival, downtown shopping, live entertainment and other fun!

Pioneer Harvest Fiesta - Fort Scott, KS - Oct 4 to Oct 6, 2024
The Pioneer Harvest Fiesta comes to the Bourbon County Fairgrounds in Fort Scott, Kansas, and features something for every member of the family! There will be handmade arts & crafts in the 4-H building Saturday and Sunday. There is a quilt show in the Meyers building all three days. This year’s gas engine exhibit features a 1924 3hp Hercules gas engine. The featured tractor is a 1966 John Deere model 1020 diesel three cylinder, 38hp. Again this year, Pioneer Harvest Fiesta features one of the largest, most interesting flea markets in the four-state’s region. Experience educational and historic exhibits, refreshments and live musical entertainment all weekend.

Greater Kansas City Japan Festival - Overland Park, KS - Oct 5, 2024
The festival introduces and educates 4,000+ visitors each year on the culture of Japan. Held at Johnson County Community College by the Kansas City chapter of the Heart of America-Japan America Society.

OZtoberfest - Wamego, KS - Oct 5, 2024
Highway 99 and Lincoln Avenue (The Road to Oz) celebrates the classic American film the Wizard of Oz with a car show, bike ride and Oz-based activities like OZ Costume Contest, Toto look-a-like contest, an Indoor/Outdoor OZ Market, Professor Marvel’s Backyard BBQ Cook-Off, Wizard’s Beer & Wine Garden, Munchkinland, Auntie Em’s Boutique, and many more OZsome activities.

Scarecrow Festival - Shawnee, KS - Oct 5, 2024
A morning of fun for the whole family at City Hall, presented by the Shawnee Downtown Partnership. This free event includes scarecrow making, pumpkin decorating, a Farmers Market and seasonal displays. Supplies and decorations will be provided at no cost. Downtown Shawnee will be transformed as businesses and merchants participate in a scarecrow contest. There is also a baking contest for chefs.

Oktoberfest Stafford - Stafford, KS - Oct 5, 2024
There will be a parade, horseshoe tournament, scavenger hunt, antique tractor show, pumpkin decorating contest and cow patty bingo. They hold the largest wiener dog races in Kansas. There will be a food court, beer garden, stage entertainment and kid’s activities.

Haunted Weekend in Atchison - Atchison, KS - Oct 5 to Oct 26, 2024
2024 – Shocktails and haunted trolley tours to three haunted locations to kick off the Haunted Trolley Tour season in Atchison, the most haunted town in Kansas. Normally: Make your own adventure in Atchison. Options include Shocktail parties in three spooky locations, brunch tea, an expo of oddities, masquerade ball with cash bar, haunted trolley tours, and overnight stays in the haunted venues.

Lots of events on the schedule here in addition to the colorful hot air balloons. BBQ cookoff, scarecrow contest, pancake breakfast, 5K, petting zoo, parade, car & motorcycle show, tractor pull, children’s corner, petting zoo, inflatables and more. Visit downtown Columbus to join in all the fun!

Shawnee Indian Mission Fall Festival - Fairway, KS - Oct 12, 2024
Come on down to the Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site during the second weekend in October to enjoy music, local vendors and crafters, living history demonstrations, children’s activities, food trucks and performances, kicking off with a free concert on Friday night!

Neewollah - Independence, KS - Oct 18 to Oct 26, 2024
Enjoy a pageant, parades, marching band contest, carnival, medallion hunt, chili cook-off, 5/10K & fun run/walk, and more. Wondering about the name? Look at it backwards! That’s right, Neewollah is Halloween backwards, and this festival began in 1919 as an effort to provide fun and positive activities for residents of Independence to enjoy in place of pranks traditionally occurring around Halloween. It continued until it was interrupted by the Great Depression and World War II, but it was revived and enhanced in 1958 as a three day festival, and has continued to grow since! It’s now a ten day celebration filled with fun for all ages, so come on down and enjoy!

Maple Leaf Festival - Wellsville, KS - Oct 19 to Oct 20, 2024
An annual community event on the third weekend in October since 1958, a time selected as the optimal time to view the changing leaves on the maples, and to celebrate the successful harvest. Parade with floats, marching bands and antique cars. Craft sale, quilt show, rides and more.

Family Fall Festival - Overland Park, KS - Oct 19, 2024
Fun for the whole family. Carnival games, clowns, face painting, huge kites, inlatables, petting zoo, free ice cream, and more. Bring a non-perishable food item or cleaning product for donation to the Blue Valley Multiservice Center.

Arkalalah Fall Festival - Arkansas City, KS - Oct 23 to Oct 26, 2024
Annual event. Carnival, parade, street games, food vendors, Queen Alalah and Little Mr. & Miss Arkalalah, and more. Since 1928.

Mildale Farm Fall Fest - Edgerton, KS - Oct 26, 2024
Bring the family and spend the day exploring the Mildale Farm property and enjoying a number of fall activities during this free public event. In addition to 136 acres of future parkland, the site includes the 22-acre Mildale Farm that is usually only accessible by reservation and is one of the regionÂ’s premier venues for weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats and other special occasions. Visitors will be directed to park in the large parking lot near Mildale FarmÂ’s main barn which features peg construction and a hand-laid brick floor. Nearby, theyÂ’ll find cider and hot cocoa and a large pumpkin patch. A tractor-drawn shuttle will take visitors to a fire circle in the south-central portion of the Mildale site, where they can roast marshmallows and enjoy storytelling. There will also be tractor-drawn hayrides and catch-and-release fishing in any of our seven ponds within the 158-acre area, so bring your own bait and tackle. While District fishing permits have been waived for this event, anglers 16 and older will still need to have a valid Kansas fishing license.

Legendary Tree Lighting Ceremony at Legends Outlets - Kansas City, KS - Nov 16, 2024
Kick off the holiday season with a live concert, prize giveaways, complimentary hot cocoa, fun photo ops, special deals, and family-friendly activities such as face painting, balloon animals, roaming character appearances, photos with Santa, and more. The lighting ceremony will take place in the Center Courtyard at approximately 6 PM, but festivities will continue until 8 PM. Legends Outlets’ 45-foot Christmas tree, with 2,000 ornaments is synchronized to music, and will continue to brighten spirits until early January, 2022.

During the four weekends following Thanksgiving, take a stroll along the lit pathways to experience the magical Gnome and Fairy Villages, serene winter woods by candlelight, and the colorful Children’s Garden. Enjoy musical performances in four different locations and visit with Santa in his Woodland Depot. The gardens are bright with color – while the quiet woods are lit with candles lining the walkways. Trees, buildings, and bridges are all part of the show, with thousands of lights aglow.

Oktoberfest Wichita - Wichita, KS - Sep 30, 2023
Celebrate the annual Oktoberfest held at Blessed Sacrament by running this traditional and festive 5K race. Run through the scenic and historic College Hill neighborhood and finish smack dab in the middle of the Oktoberfest celebration. Featuring live music, kids play area and of course, German Beer and Food. All runners receive choice of brat or hot dog and beer (21 and older). Race swag includes a dri-fit tech shirt and some more goodies new this year!
