It’s that magical time of year for some of your holiday traditions, including meeting Santa in his Winter Wonderland at Zona Rosa.
Holiday Luminary Walk - Overland Park, KS - Nov 29 to Dec 14, 2024
During the four weekends following Thanksgiving, take a stroll along the lit pathways to experience the magical Gnome and Fairy Villages, serene winter woods by candlelight, and the colorful Children’s Garden. Enjoy musical performances in four different locations and visit with Santa in his Woodland Depot. The gardens are bright with color – while the quiet woods are lit with candles lining the walkways. Trees, buildings, and bridges are all part of the show, with thousands of lights aglow.
Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Crown Center - Kansas City, MO - Nov 29 to Nov 29, 2024
The 100-foot-tall Mayor’s Christmas Tree, one of the nation’s tallest, is the centerpiece for an illuminating holiday celebration. Kansas City’s Mayor and a celebrity guest will flip the switch to light the tree. Members of the Kansas City Chorale will perform during the ceremony.

Christmas Holiday Throwback Series at Union Station - Kansas City, MO - Nov 22 to Dec 19, 2024
Watch classic and retro holiday movies including National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Elf, and the Polar Express, all at Regnier Extreme Screen, the largest movie theater screen in the region. Each movie will screen for a few days, check the website for the schedule and tickets.
Legendary Tree Lighting Ceremony at Legends Outlets - Kansas City, KS - Nov 16 to Nov 16, 2024
Kick off the holiday season with a live concert, prize giveaways, complimentary hot cocoa, fun photo ops, special deals, and family-friendly activities such as face painting, balloon animals, roaming character appearances, photos with Santa, and more. The lighting ceremony will take place in the Center Courtyard at approximately 6 PM, but festivities will continue until 8 PM. Legends Outlets’ 45-foot Christmas tree, with 2,000 ornaments is synchronized to music, and will continue to brighten spirits until early January, 2022.

This family-favorite festival is a breath of fresh air during a hectic holiday season. Bundle up and wander a lighted outdoor path featuring immersive, botanically-inspired installations that celebrate the natural joy of the most festive season. More than 20 miles of lights highlight the natural forms of Powell Gardens’ tree collection, show off the exceptional architecture and landscape elements in the Gardens, and create paths through Instagram and holiday card-worthy photo moments.
Mildale Farm Fall Fest - Edgerton, KS - Oct 26 to Oct 26, 2024
Bring the family and spend the day exploring the Mildale Farm property and enjoying a number of fall activities during this free public event. In addition to 136 acres of future parkland, the site includes the 22-acre Mildale Farm that is usually only accessible by reservation and is one of the regionÂ’s premier venues for weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats and other special occasions. Visitors will be directed to park in the large parking lot near Mildale FarmÂ’s main barn which features peg construction and a hand-laid brick floor. Nearby, theyÂ’ll find cider and hot cocoa and a large pumpkin patch. A tractor-drawn shuttle will take visitors to a fire circle in the south-central portion of the Mildale site, where they can roast marshmallows and enjoy storytelling. There will also be tractor-drawn hayrides and catch-and-release fishing in any of our seven ponds within the 158-acre area, so bring your own bait and tackle. While District fishing permits have been waived for this event, anglers 16 and older will still need to have a valid Kansas fishing license.

Missouri Day Festival - Trenton, MO - Oct 18 to Oct 19, 2024
The Missouri Day Festival is the largest festival of the year for Trenton. Sponsored by the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce, it is held the third weekend in October each year. This event draws thousands of people to the Trenton area. This is a family-friendly event that hosts activities for persons of every age. Adults and children alike can shop with nearly 120 different vendors who come from all over the United States. Many vendors return year after year for this well-attended event. Come on out to play, eat and just have fun. In conjunction with the festival, there is also a marching band competition for high schools throughout Missouri. Also offers parade, 15-20 food vendors, children amusements, and much more!!

2024 – Shocktails and haunted trolley tours to three haunted locations to kick off the Haunted Trolley Tour season in Atchison, the most haunted town in Kansas. Normally: Make your own adventure in Atchison. Options include Shocktail parties in three spooky locations, brunch tea, an expo of oddities, masquerade ball with cash bar, haunted trolley tours, and overnight stays in the haunted venues.

Parade (including antique tractors, classic cars, fire trucks and bands), arts & crafts, apple dumplings and other food products from local churches. Missouri Town 1855 Fall Festival - Lee's Summit, MO - Oct 5 to Oct 6, 2024
1850’s music, skilled interpreters, dance, buggy rides, hot spiced sider, arts & carfts, hay rides and children’s game, all held at Missouri Town 1855, a living history museum with year-round programming focused on 1800s farm life. Cost is $10 per car/van, $20 per bus.

Louisburg Ciderfest - Louisburg, KS - Sep 28 to Oct 6, 2024
Louisburg Cider Mill has good old fashioned apple cider fun for two weekends every autumn. It is always held on the last weekend in September and the first weekend in October. There is no admission or parking fees to attend Ciderfest. Activities begin with the pancake breakfast and continue with pony rides, inflatable slide, cider and donut-making and craft booths until 6 pm. You can also take part in all their normal fall activities, like their 10 acre corn maze and their PYO pumpkin patch (admission fee may apply).

70,000 are expected in Downtown Lee’s Summit for Oktoberfest to enjoy the German meals, three stages of entertainment, dancers, biergarten, carnival, arts and crafts. It has been held for more than 20 years. Contests include a home brew beer competition, wiener dog race and baby contest. Kids street has contests for kids, crafts such as pumpkin decorating, and free activities.
