West Virginia Ghost Tours, Walks and Paranormal Investigations
There are six West Virginia ghost tours, several of which are fairly well known. The ghost tour in Harpers Ferry is probably one of the more popular tours in the country.Harpers Ferry was a place of conflict during the Civil War, starting with Jon Brown’s raid on the arsenal in 1859.It changed hands eight times during the war because of its strategic importance at the intersection of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers. It is now reportedly haunted by the soldiers who fought and died there. The West Virginia State Penitentiary in Moundsville and the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston are just two more of the haunted locations in West Virginia.
