Louder Than Life Festival With Kid Rock on October 4th and 5th

Judas Priest headlines the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville on October 4th.  Kid Rock brings it the next night on October 5th.  The Louder Than Life festival features music, whiskey, and gourmet man food.  The festival is at Champions Park, 2050 River Road, Louisville, Kentucky.

I once attended a Kid Rock concert at Pontiac Michigan’s Silverdome.  It was some music experience.  This was about 10 years ago so I was in my early 50’s yet Kid Rock really got all of the 30,000 in attendance on our feet.  Even at my age I would pay to go see him again.  A great concert for everyone including me who I think was the oldest person in the audience.

Some of the celebrity chefs at this event are Chris Santos, Vic Vegas, Tom Coghill, and Bill Kuntz.  Also featured are some of the local food restaurants that have been seen on the Food Network.  Highway 61 Roadhouse, Spinelli’s, Monkey Wrench are but a few of the featured restaurants.  All will attempt to present the finest in Gourmet Man Food.

Of course it is Kentucky and bourbon is the whiskey of choice.  Did you know that Kentucky produces about 95 percent of the world’s bourbon.  The little town of Bardstown lays claim to the bourbon capital but Louisville has been making a run for the title recently.  Bourbon, rock music, great food, and Louisville all seem to go together.

The whiskey makers are really going to put on a show with the following exhibiting:  Angels Envy, Jim Beam, Benchmark, Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare, Knob Creek, Red Stag and more scheduled.  Jack Daniel’s presents a Whiskey Experience exhibit.

Do not miss the three stages filled with bands such as Pop Evil, Steel Panther, Theory, Nonpoint, Flaw and others.  Saturday’s lineup includes Judas Priest, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Stone Temple Pilots, Alter-Bridge, Mastodon, and more.  Sunday’s lineup features Kid Rock, VolBeat, Papa Roach, A Day To Remember, and at least 10 other bands.

A Germantown exhibit is hosted by Jagermeister.  The first settlers in the Louisville area were German.  The area has a long German tradition going back 2 centuries.  Today about one third of the resident claim German heritage.

If you are looking for something to do this fall you should consider the Louder Than Life festival.  Tickets are now on sale.  There are a number of ticket options including military discounts, camping and hotel packages, and VIP.  Basic general admission single day tickets are $64.50 or a two day options for $109.50.

In case you are wondering, we are continuing with our countdown to Halloween.  Did you see our new layout for the Funtober website.  Hope you enjoy our new look as it was so much work to put it all together.  We spent three weeks setting it up and finished Sunday night at 11:30 pm.  It all seems to work.  So we are back to our countdown today.  Thanks for your patience.
