Magpie was one of our favorite pie shops for it’s entire 7 year run, until owner (and author) Holly Riccardi closed it to move on to bigger and better things. From an annual celebration of “Pi Day” on March 14th to whole pies to order for the holidays, and quiche pies for brunch, savory pies for lunch/dinner and sweet pies for dessert, this charming little shop felt like your grandma’s kitchen, and delivered amazing tastes for meal after meal, with seasonal changes to make it fresh and new.
I was so excited when this cookbook came out, and have enjoyed making the pies for our family, especially the Chocolate Coffee Cinnamon Pecan Pie for holidays such as Thanksgiving. It’s a gorgeous book, one you will enjoy paging through as you contemplate which delicious recipes to make for your own family, and one I’m proud to have sitting on my own bookshelf.
